Our science students perform well at the Sri Lanka research projects competition (SRPC)

Three students from Methodist College: Ashvini Prabhakaran, Archchana Kanagarathnam and Nabeela Iqbal took part in the Sri Lanka research projects competition (SRPC)organized by the national science foundation to choose experiments for the Sri Lanka science and engineering fair among school students.

Their experiment was able to secure a place within the top ten projects from among the experiments done by school students in the island.

The project was based on the hypothesis "Whether fern leaves could absorb heavy metals such as lead from water."

The project was done in six months with the help of Mrs. Vasanthan-teacher in charge, the open university of Sri Lanka and the national institute of fundamental studies
